Talisker Storm Malt Whisky, 70cl
Stormy by name, stormy by nature Talisker storm is a youthful whisky which has the characteristics of the Talisker distillery as well as smoky notes and an interestingly complex flavour profile. An initially briny nose leads into a banana, citrus and white pepper notes. This multi-faceted nose leads into a similar palate, with additional wood smoke and biting chilli heat. It ends on a dry note, satisfying and welcome.
Bowmore 15yr Whisky, 70cl
An exciting release from esteemed Islay distillery Bowmore, this 15-year-old single malt enjoys maturation in fruity and elegant oloroso sherry casks. From the first opening, the bottle 15-year-old Bowmore is dark and punchy with sherry notes coming through strongly with sweet dates, spices and raisin present too. The flavour follows on in the same vein, rich and decadent with pine oil and rich woody spice coming through alongside malted fruits. The sherry character sells this malt every time.
Ardbeg Corryvreckan Whisky, 70cl
Ardbeg Corryvreckan is a legend in its own right. A dram you won’t forget and a malt you are almost guaranteed to want to buy time and again. Medicinal in style, the nose is rich in herbal and pine notes, with creamier hints of buttery warmth and smoke. The palate too is wonderfully creamy with tingling spices, a touch of fresh fruit, orange peels and that medicinal tang. The finish is long with a salty edge, a hint of peat and that unusual yet enjoyable medicinal taste remains prevalent.
Laphroaig Quarter Cask Whisky, 70cl
Laphroaig quarter cask was released in 2004 to much esteem. Youthful compared to other offerings it’s a highly commendable malt which still has a bold, enticing flavour despite its young age. Oily and butter-rich on the nose, toffee, nuts and hickory smoke come through measuredly. The palate gives a bold hit of sweetness with fiery chilli heat coming through quickly in pursuit, medicinal freshness, chewy cereals and even a hint of cola also follow.

Bowmore 25yr Whisky, 70cl

One of the newest offerings from islay’s Bowmore distillery, this 18-year-old single malt is perfumed, wonderfully fruity and rich with dark, smoky peat. The nose begins vibrantly, with the alcohol eat coming through amongst perfumed fruit and essence of fruit jam. When the flavour comes through it’s a balance of sweet and smoky, with deep peaty notes paired with cooked fruit and hearty marmalade. The endnote is rich with sticky marmalade notes and a final whisper of smoke.
Ardbeg Uigeadail Whisky, 70cl
Ardbeg Uigeadail takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic word for ‘dark and mysterious place’ which is also the loch from which Ardbeg gets its water. Ardbeg pride themselves on a range of unique quality malts and Uigeadail doesn’t let the team down. The aroma is a rich mixture of peat, dark sugar, espresso beans and a hint of deep tar. The flavour is led by sweeter notes, with ripe fruit and honey coming through first with just a touch of malt, all the while supported by that lingering peat. Caramel and malt find a place in the lingering finish, adding warmth and sweetness to the peat.
The Dalmore 15yr Whisky, 70cl
The Dalmore 15-year-old first hit the market in 2007 and benefits from maturation in apostles, amoroso and Matusalem sherry casks. The chocolate that the Dalmore is known for is present with abundance alongside zesty orange and wintry spices. The nose is simply meeting with orange zest and cocoa, with floral notes adding a further character dimension. A medium, sweet taste on the palate evokes the flavour of blue curacao and bitter chocolate, with stem ginger syrup and warming citrus present too.
Glenmorangie Lasanta Whisky, 70cl
Finished in oloroso sherry casks, Glenmorangie Lasanta is a warm, toasty single malt that takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic for warmth and passion. The nose is creamily sweet, with caramel, chocolate-covered fruit and sweet spices blended perfectly. The mouthfeel is voluptuously thick, honeyed raisins, beeswax, vanilla ice cream and oaky dryness melt together in perfect harmony. A little spice and bitter cacao bring this dram to an excellent close.
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban Whisky, 70cl
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is the port finished offering from the esteemed distillery. To create its distinctive flavour specially selected port pipes from the Portuguese Douro valley are used. The nose is rich in winter fragrances, fresh berries and the warmth of a good port. Strong oak and chewy cereal notes also come through leading to a sweet, thick mouthfeel and a palate full of bright port notes, barley sugar and juicy fresh fruit. It is one of the sweeter offerings on the market but there are noticeable hits of spice.
Glenmorangie Nectar D’Or Whisky, 70cl
Like the nectar of the gods, Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or is an elegant, vinous single malt that will send you into raptures. Sauternes finish helps to deliver the sweet, vine flavours and enures the fruity notes are bold and inviting. A nose full of dessert wines and barley sweetness gives way to a full-bodied flavour, with cereal notes supporting the more wine-like characteristics. Oaky tannins support a light spice which helps lead to a rounded finish.

Evoking the relaxed nature of a western American coffee house, the nose of this malt is rich in roasting coffee beans, nuttiness and sweet malt. The palate is different, rich in Seville marmalade, wintry spice and cocoa drawing into a medium finish that ensures you go back for another sip.

Knob Creek is one of those classic small-batch bourbons that’s jumped in popularity. Take this chance to try it out for yourself. Produced by Jim Beam, it’s a traditional blend with nine years spent maturing and a spicy sweetness which is warmly satisfying. Seriously clean vodka bursting with citrus zest and crème anglais notes. there is a wave of faint apple followed by big mineral crispness that evntually settles down into a clean and silky smooth finish with lingering lemon zest and hot toasty pepper. mega yum offering from the stolichnaya team. serve from fridge to get the very best from it.

The prefered polish potato vodka of "men" apparently!? Fat hot buttery mash with lashings of pepper on entry followed by more creamy soda notes and finally hot white pepper and boiled new potatoes finish. Pretty damn good to be fair.

Luxurious offering from Poland. Medium-bodied with faint vanilla any crushed grains. The finish is of a reasonable length with butter and nutty cream notes that fade into lemon zest.

Classic Russian style of vodka. Lemon follows pepper, followers faint grain notes. The finish is medium-bodied and has white pepper and lemon rind tang. Great stuff that never lets you down. Serve from the freezer for best results.

The one that started it all! Pepper and peppermint note start-up upon entry. These move aside as a clean sweetness takes over and then finishes with white pepper and a faint yet recognizable liquorice ending. Classic little number that we've all done time with.

Click your clogs with joy! a dutch success story, smooth yet faint dried fruit notes with a touch of half-baked bread. Dry and peppery finish. This is super good from the fridge and a really good value for money. The dutch keep it real and the vodka follows suit. Great stuff.
Skyy Vodka, 70cl
This one is bursting with clean mineral and lemon notes. Sweet grain notes appear followed by soft lemon curd. These fade into a white pepper and lime zest finish that still retains the aforementioned flinty mineral notes. Very clean and well put together vodka; sadly often overlooked.

Don't expect miracles! when funds are tight this is the way to go. Drinkable but needs a chilled soft drink/mixer/mixer. Keep this one in the freezer for optimum taste.
