Lovely north Italian red showing intense spice and ripe fruit on the palate, round and persistent with soft tannins. A great match for game, roasted red meats and hard mature cheeses.
Elegant red cherries and red currants on the nose with a gentle hint of minerality – quite delightful. The palate is light in body and bright with acidity. This wine is all about the fruit and the sour cherries and wild strawberry juice is extremely drinkable. This is about as delicate as the Cote de Nuits gets but perhaps just missing the degree of structure and balance you expect from a 1er Cru
Showcasing the traits of Australia, Bulletin Place Shiraz is a warm, rich, approachable wine, full of distinct berry characters, and the flavours are generous. The wine finishes with a spicy softness.
This medium-bodied wine has hints of green apple, citrus, white peach and floral blossom. The Pinot Grigio leaves a refreshing and revitalizing crisp finish on your palate.
An uplifting nose of spices and red fruits with a light to medium body and a palate of strawberries and pepper that is high in acidity and muted tannins.
The 2015 Beychevelle is a blend of 47% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot aged 18 months in barrel, 50% of which were new and 50% second fill. Medium to deep garnet-purple in colour, it's scented of smoked meats, scorched earth, garrigue and new leather with a core of cassis, cherry cordial and plum preserves. The medium-bodied palate is a little firm but delicate, with lovely vibrancy and a bit of grip on the finish.
This Grand Cru presents garnet red with purple hues. An intense bouquet that has spicy and fruity notes. The body has a good density and is perfectly supported by its structure. The tannins slowly reveal themselves. They are of the granular type and perfectly pair with the structure.
A very subtle hint of oak sets off notes of white orchard fruit, acacia and tidal pool notes that are also picked up by the rich and full mineral-infused flavours that possess good volume on the intense, tangy and punchy finish. This is relatively open and highly complex already and should be approachable young.
From Domaine Ott in Bandol, southern Rhone. Both delicate in flavour and powerful in structure. Notes of strawberry, cherry and ginger come through in this excellent rosé.
This has lots of mineral and lemon peel character with dried flowers and currants. Full and very silky with fresh acidity. Long and intense. Racy and lean at the finish.
Chateau Leoville Barton develops aromas of white flowers (acacias) with notes of candied violets. The wine has an unforgettably long finish in the mouth.
Features a gorgeous core of plum and blackcurrant fruit, deeply inlaid with tobacco notes and chalky minerality. Everything melds wonderfully through to a refined finish.
The Chateau Kirwan wine from Margaux displays an intense red colour and gives off quite a grand nose of freshly ripened dark berries. The palate is fleshy, almost juicy (with plenty of scrumptious fruit present), all upon very elegant, distinguished tannins with a refined grain. The tannic structure and balance of this wine reveal Cabernet Sauvignon that is perfectly concentrated and gradually ripened. The fruity finish is persistent. This wine is very nicely balanced on the whole. It is indeed a great Margaux classic.
Currant, blackberry, cherry and hints of liquorice. Full-bodied, with silky and refined tannins and a fresh finish. This is racy and pretty. Very refined. Very structured.
With a ruby red colour and purple hues, this is a wine with expressive aromas of cherries and currants that blend harmoniously with the vanilla notes and subtle oak. Fresh and delicious.
This is extremely impressive for the vintage, with dark berry, liquorice, aniseed and subtle clove character. Full to medium body, pretty backbone and black fruit core.
