A spanish gin that is one of only two gins in the world with its own EU designation of origin, Xorigeur is based on an 18th century recipe and was popular with the sailors at that time. The green handled bottle makes it stand out from the crowd but it’s the perfumed flavour and orange-rich character which really make this gin sing. A grape alcohol base gives it a juicy flavour which is peppered with bright herbaceous and spicy notes. Fresh, almost menthol juniper ends each sip, lingering as a quenching aftertaste.
The nose is quite thick and resinous, there is a pleasant oiliness with zesty citrus and peels and a hint of sherry. Plenty of oak and orchard fruits.
An award-winning offering, Yamazaki 18-Year-Old is an exceptional Japanese single malt which is certainly worthy of at least one taste. On the nose, you’ll feel its thickness, with resinous notes, zesty citrus and a hint of sherry. When drinking you’ll enjoy an array of orchard fruits and spiced oak, paired with fragrant floral notes and sherry-infused peels. The finish is long with fruit and oak combining beautifully to create a memorable flavour.
Originally made by the french Carthusian monks, yellow chartreuse is an aromatic and botanical-led liqueur with a distinctive and herbal taste. 130 hand-selected herbs are combined to create the exceptional flavour of yellow chartreuse and the liqueur is then aged in oak barrels to create a distinctive woody flavour. Honey is added to create a sweeter flavour and its lower proof and lighter on the palate when compared to its green compatriot. Wonderful before or after dinner.
Turkey’s national drink, raki is a sweet, clear brandy which teases the tongue and brings together spicy, hot and sweet notes in perfect harmony. The deep anise flavour is what you’ll take away from each sip of Yeni raki but the flavour is much more complex than that with minty undertones and sugar beet sweetness. First produced in 1944 Yeni raki is one of Turkey’s most famous raki products and is one which can be enjoyed as an unforgettable aperitif.
