Hayman's Old Tom Gin, 70cl

An original family recipe lives on in Hayman’s old tom. clean and fresh in its flavours with a history dating back to the 1860s, old tom uses the same ten botanicals it always has. It stands out from others in the Hayman's collection due to the intensity of the botanicals within and the addition of sugar for sweetness. juniper and orange zest work together to introduce the drink and by the end, you’ll be enjoying cracked black pepper in a clean, long finish.

Boodles Gin, 70cl

Well balanced juniper and builders tea note arrive first followed by fresh Thai herbs and spices. Blackjacks appear before the kick which is a very smooth affair. The finish is dry and full of burnt liquorice wood, juniper and strangely, coriander. classic and clean. What more can you ask for? Excellent stuff.

XOriguer, 70cl

A spanish gin that is one of only two gins in the world with its own EU designation of origin, Xorigeur is based on an 18th century recipe and was popular with the sailors at that time. The green handled bottle makes it stand out from the crowd but it’s the perfumed flavour and orange-rich character which really make this gin sing. A grape alcohol base gives it a juicy flavour which is peppered with bright herbaceous and spicy notes. Fresh, almost menthol juniper ends each sip, lingering as a quenching aftertaste.

Juniper and coriander take centre stage in the traditional gin and zesty citrus comes through later with a hint of spice. Liquorice comes through in a final flourish and lingers in the mouth.

Sagatiba Pura cachaça is a fresh and clean example of Brazil’s second favourite drink (after the beer). Noticeably sweet as soon as it hits the palate, you will enjoy the bite of lemon and lime and hints of orange all tantalising the tongue. Salto Pure 39 Cachaça, 70cl

The biggest of the bunch when it comes to saLtro cachaça, Salto pure is a 39% abv spirit which describes itself as ‘unmodified’. It has a strong, impactful nose which is fruity and invites you to taste. The flavour is bold and has a sugary sweetness due to its fermented sugar cane juice base. Salto pure cachaça epitomises the flavour of one of Brazil’s national treasures and offers it up with a punch.

Abelha Silver Cachaça, 70cl

Distilled in copper pot stills from fresh-cut organically-grown sugarcane from the Bahia region of Brazil, Abelha is a cut above many firewater cachaças, boasting an extremely pure and pungent agricole character.

Leblon Cachaça, 70cl

Named for a well-known region of Rio, Leblon cachaça looks like any other white rum or vodka but its flavour tells a different story. Its nose is a borderline combination of sugar sweetness and zesty citrus and is reminiscent of a good rum and a slice of lime. On drinking, you’ll enjoy an initial hit of that limey citrus soon followed by strong rum-like flavours tempered down by sugar cane sweetness. Leblon is harsh on the palate but not overwhelmingly so and is a great alternative to your average white rum in a daiquiri.

Velho Barreiro Cachaça, 70cl

One of brazil’s favourite cachaça, Velho Barreiro is delicate on the nose but powerful earthy tones come through when you sip. Ripe marrow and fresh orchard fruit aromas are all present in the nose but when enjoyed neat the flavour is crisp and clean, with a rounded flavour profile which once again allows the sweet vegetal notes to shine. This also applies when you add it to your favourite exotic cocktail, unsurprisingly a perfect partner for the other essential ingredients in a caipirinha.

Sigognac Armagnac 10yr, 70cl

Lots of roundness in the mouth with floral, woody and spicy notes leading to a long and pleasing finish of grilled almonds and vanilla.

Berneroy No 8 VSOP Brandy, 70cl

From the heart of the Calvados region, Berney aged this VSOP in limousin oak for around 8 years. It has a great flavour and they recommend it with the cheeseboard, chocolate, or even as an accompaniment to a good cigar.

Sigognac Armagnac VSOP, 70cl

Very good balance in the mouth, endowed with a suave vanilla taste with notes of crystallised fruits that is very rare in a VSOP.

Martell Cordon Blue Cognac, 70cl

Martell cordon bleu is a distinguished cognac which marries together the flavours of a number of different Eaux de vie from the borders region. Created in 1912 it is deep golden copper in colour and has strong aromas of orchard fruits, plummy warmth, cinnamon, vetiver and toasted almonds. The flavour is simple and mellow with a long and fruit-filled finish coupled with light spices and a hint of honey.

Remy Martin Mature Cask Brandy, 70cl

Remy Martin VOSP mature cask benefits from a precise maturation process which involves placing the Eaux de vie in specially selected limousin oak casks that are more than 20 years old. These casks allow the fruity notes of the blend to be enhanced further and it’s a wonderful cognac which can be enjoyed over ice or as a key flavour in a sophisticated cocktail. Apricot and peach take centre stage with notes of rose and sweet vanilla following after.

Hine Rare VSOP Brandy, 70cl

With honey sweetness in abundance Hine rare VSOP is a refined blend of Eaux de vie which balances selections from both the grande and petite champaign regions. the youngest Eau de vie in the blend is six years old, though they can be up to twelve and this maturation ensures the smooth, deep flavour connoisseurs lust after. Floral hints of jasmine support the warm honey and a final note of vanilla provide a rounded ending.
