Wine | / Portugal |
Yielding some of the world’s best value wines, Portugal still produces native vine varieties. Vinho verde, made on the northern border, is a delicious crisp dry white (great with shellfish). Blackberries and cherries are evident in the rich reds of the Alentejo and Douro and drink well with cheeses and pork dishes. ‘Quinta’ signifies a single estate.
